Jean-Christophe. IV. La révolte. 3. La délivrance
Romain Rolland
IV. — THE REVOLT. — 3
CAHIERS DE LA QUINZAINE, appearing sixteen times a year, PARIS, 8, rue de la Sorbonne, ground floor.
Note from the manager. — From this short index it follows that Jean-Christophe presently consists of four books:
The first book, Dawn, formed the ninth cahier of the fifth series; marked two francs, this cahier now sells for three francs fifty;
The second book, Morning, formed the tenth cahier of the fifth series; marked two francs, this cahier now sells for three francs fifty;
The third book, The Adolescent, formed the eighth cahier of the sixth series; marked three francs fifty, this cahier now sells for three francs fifty;
We have today only a small number of these three cahiers and those persons who do not yet have them would do well to request them from us immediately; these three cahiers will not be reprinted; as soon as they are on the way to being out of print, which cannot be much longer now, we shall raise their price to twelve francs each until they are entirely out of print: from the day they are completely exhausted, they shall no longer be sold except in our complete collections of our fifth and sixth series, until these series themselves come to be on the way to being out of print and then are completely exhausted. Then they will necessarily no longer be sold at all.
From the day these three cahiers are raised to the out-of-print price, we shall no longer sell for ordinary use anything but copies of the Ollendorff edition.
The fourth book, The Revolt, consists of three parts which respectively form three cahiers.
First part of this fourth book: Shifting Sands; this part formed the fourth cahier of the eighth series, a white cahier of 160 pages, marked three francs;
Second part of this fourth book: The Quicksand; this part formed the sixth cahier of the eighth series, a white cahier of 144 pages, marked three francs;
Third part of this fourth book: Deliverance; this is the present cahier, ninth cahier of the eighth series, a white cahier of at least 144 pages, marked three francs;
To obtain the first four books of Jean-Christophe, it suffices to send a money order of nineteen francs fifty to M. Andre Bourgeois, administrator of the cahiers, 8, rue de la Sorbonne, ground floor, Paris, fifth arrondissement. One will receive by return mail the six cahiers forming the first four books.
The manager Charles Peguy
As will be seen below, the pagination of the present cahier, third part of the fourth book, follows the pagination of the cahier mentioned above, second part of this fourth book. Thus the three parts of this fourth book are paginated consecutively.
