Une œuvre réunie à travers les cahiers
Les Mystères
1910–1912
Péguy’s three Mystères — Le mystère de la charité de Jeanne d’Arc (1910), Le porche du mystère de la deuxième vertu (1911), and Le mystère des saints Innocents (1912) — form the spine of his mature religious poetry. Written in long unrhymed verse paragraphs that the Cahiers set as prose, they re-cast hope, charity, and martyrdom as the patient speech of God and the saints. They are among the only works Péguy published in the Cahiers that were also reissued in his lifetime as books.
